TP 29: Joshua Spodek Teaching Leadership Practice

Joshua Spodek went from being an astrophysicist to teaching and coaching leadership at NYU and Columbia Business School following a rollercoaster experience as an inventor and CEO of Submedia. After discovering that leadership could be taught, he became curious about learning how to teach it. His book Leadership Step by Step, is the culmination of his teaching and coaching experience. His approach is focused on practices for skill development of the social and emotional elements of leadership. In our conversation, he talked about his own practices and reframed competition. He shared his thoughts on the difference between managers and leaders, the #1 predictor of success, and why there are so many TED talks on leadership. (Opinions Wanted: Listener Survey)
